Took my new Jeep for it's inaugural ride around the Callihan Farm after work this evening.  Had to put new batteries in my trail cam anyway.  Decided to take a panorama of the colored trees.

My new ride.... AKA.. most expensive daily photo I've taken yet. Jeep Patriot Latitude, 31 miles on her. All down hill from here. Oh the adventures we will have together though.

Got in the car this morning, not knowing exactly where I was going to go. Ended up at Brady's Bend and took some photos. Was hoping for a little more color in the trees, but good enough.

If you've been regularly watching my photo posts the last 2 years, you have probably noticed something.  All of a sudden, for several days in a row, nothing looks good to me unless it is black and white.  So for the second day in a row.... a black and white HDR image.  Helen Furnace this evening.

Didn't get out for much of a photo today.  Spent the whole day working in the house.  Won't be long till I fill these and watch birds against a bright, white landscape.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 196 - 9-20-2014

Went on the Clarion Chapter of the North Country Trail Assocaition's monthly hike today.  We decided to leave the NCT and head into the Allegheny National Forest to explore the Hearts Content area.  As soon as I saw the monstrous living trees, I knew my abilities behind a camera could not do them justice.  So I found myself finding that there is in fact life after death.  This tree was absolutely massive.  You can get a perspective of it's size by the smaller dead one beside it.  It is the size of tree that you usually find laying along the trail while you are strolling through the woods.  This tree lived probably several of my lifetimes before crashing to the floor.  Incredible.

Was at my Grandma's house after work today and we spent some time on her sidewalk talking while I photographed this beauty. This might be one of my favorite photos that I have taken in a while. Just draws you in I think.

Almost forgot about my photo today. Oh well. Good chance to test the higher ISO settings on my camera. Shot taken at 135mm at ISO of 3200. A little noisy in the out of focus areas, but I don't think it hurts it any.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 191 - 9-15-2014

Saw an article a little bit ago that Canon released a new 24mm lens for crop sensor cameras. Got me in the mood to put the nifty fifty on and take a shot.  I am really pumped about that new 24mm lens.  I'll probably get one, especially given the fact that it is only $150.  Even cheaper than the nifty fifty, but a much more "normal" focal length.

Went on a vacation for 10 days and wasn't able to post regularly to my blog.  This post should get things caught back up.  Am posting the original wording that I posted on my Facebook page as the week went on.  Added a few additional comments at times.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 180 - 09-04-14. Simple phone pic this evening. Been too busy getting ready for a little adventure. The drive tomorrow evening.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day181 - 09-05-14. Hands down lamest photo of the day ever. Next nine days will be better though.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 182 - 09-06-14. First full day of the trip South. We traveled about 60 miles of Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park today. Lots of beautiful vistas and several run-ins with the Appalachian Trail. This is my son, Collin and I at one of the trail heads.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 183 - 09-07-14. A photo of the location where I will be taking some of my sunrise photos from this week. (ironically, I never really got a good sunrise this stay)

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 184 - 09-08-14. Went for a walk on a stretch of beach in the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge today. Found this boat wrecked on the beach. It has definitely seen better days. Made a nice photo subject.  (I found out later after attending a meeting for local photographers later that night, the back story on this boat.  It was a sailboat (salvaged after the hurricane last year).  The owner was towing it with another sailboat from New York to South Carolina.  His intention was to make it new again.  He fell asleep one night 7 miles from the coast and woke up with both boats beached.  He tried to find a way to save this boat and lived in it on the beach for several months.  Unfortunately people kept coming in the night and stealing parts of it til there was nothing left but it's hull.  Sad really.)

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 185 - 09-09-14. Headed out to the Jeanette Pier a little bit ago. Took a ton of photos under the moon. Will post more of this shoot when I get home and get to play with them a little. There are some real winners in this batch.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 186 - 09-10-14. We took a couple of family pictures today. Got to wait till we get home before I can fix some of the lighting issues.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 187 - 09-11-14. Felt this subject needed done in black and white. Took a drive down through Pea Island and Rodanthe and stopped at this building before heading back across Oregon Inlet. If you look closely, you can see the Bodie Island Light House really small in one of the low spots in the dunes.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 188 - 09-12-14. Been wanting to take a photo of the Wright Brothers Memorial at night and tonight was the night. Snuck on a little while ago and shot this.

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 189 - 09-13-14. Last day of vacation. We decided to head up on the beach North of Corolla to see if we could see some horses. None to be found this year. This photo looks like a jeep commercial. LOL

2014 Daily Photo Project - Day 190 - 09-14-14. Got home from the Outer Banks a short bit ago and found this tree with leaves almost all turning. Seems I found the same thing last year when I returned then.

Went over to the Callihan Farm real quick to swap out the card in my game camera and saw plenty of deer while there.  These ones hung around for a photo.

Was at a geocaching event at the Toby Hill this evening and realized that it was time to head home and find a photo on the way.  Didn't make it far.  Came down Toby Hill and found the lighting absolutely perfect on the Clarion River and this photo came to me.

Went on a hike today.  Loved the way the fog was rolling out of this tunnel when it was 80 some degrees outside of it.
